9th round on European Team Go tournament.

On the 17th of May at 8:00PM the final round of the Team Championships tournament had begun.
The Polish team had to deal with the representation from Sweden and, in order to make sure that the second position in Group B is maintained, had to win this match.
The challenge wasn't small and the contender was strong. However, by exposing the dream team (in my opinion currently it's the strongest one in Poland) we were able to show what we can do. On the first board the strongest Polish player Leszek Soldan 5 dan faced the Swedish team captain - Frederick Blombark 5 dan. Unfortunately for us, the match ended quickly and Leszek had to accept the superiority of the Swedish player. Sweden was leading 0:1.
Howeve, the remaining three matches turned out much better for our team. Our young, yet very strong player - Mateusz Surma 5 dan won his game on the second board and Kamil Chwedyna 4 dan went through a complicated battle that started at the very beginning of his match. Thanks to his good fighting skills and great focus on the game, it was soon clear that the fight would turn out well for our player. And so it did.
I tried my best to defend the last, fourth board. To be honest, my game looked like one, big tsumego that required some deep reading. Luckily the time I took to read out different variations wasn't wasted and I succeeded to win the match.
That left us with the result 3:1 against the leader from group B.
One thing we know for sure - we will be playing playoffs against a team from group A. We also have a possibility to get promoted to group A, in which the majority of players are semi-professionals and professionals.
We can deal with them!
